Principal's Message
Dear Parents, Guardians, and School Community,
Welcome back to a brand new school year! The energy in our halls is high, and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders back to the home of the Hurricanes.
Every year brings a fresh opportunity to set a vision for our school culture. Living in a coastal community, we are uniquely shaped by the environment around us. This year, we are drawing inspiration from our own backyard to launch our school-wide theme:
"Connected like the waves, we adapt and grow. Driven like the storm, we pursue excellence."
Middle School is a time of immense transition—academically, socially, and emotionally. Our theme is designed to give our students a framework for handling both the challenges and the opportunities of these critical years:
-
Connected like the waves: Middle School relationships and social environments can shift quickly. We are teaching our students to be like the shoreline—where individual grains of sand come together to form something strong and unbreakable. Like the waves, we want our students to be adaptable, resilient, and flexible when facing obstacles, always lifting each other up and staying connected as a community.
-
Driven like the storm: We are reclaiming our Hurricane mascot to represent channeled power and focused determination. We want our students to bring a fierce, unstoppable energy to everything they do. Whether they are tackling a complex math problem in the classroom, competing on the athletic fields, or creating art and music, we expect them to pursue excellence with everything they’ve got.
As parents and educators, our partnership is the foundation that allows our students to thrive. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where your child can adapt and grow, while simultaneously pushing them to reach their highest potential.
Thank you for your continued support, trust, and collaboration. Let’s work together to make this an incredible, high-energy year for our kids.
Welcome back, Hurricanes!
Sincerely,
Charisse Miller
Middle School Principal
